أهمية الكتاب

عمل فذ غزير المنفعة بليغ العبارة ، فيه من دقة استخراج المعاني الإيمانية و لطف الإشارات القلبية ما ليس في غيره ، وهو كتاب من خير ما كتب ابن القيم خصوصاً في تصفية الأرواح و تقوية وتهذيب النفوس و الأخلاق و تزكية القلوب و ترقيقها والتأدب بآداب المتقين الصادقين والكشف النفسي للطبيعة البشرية و نوازعها في مراحل الإيمان المختلفة و تبسيط طريق المعرفة في معاملة الله في عبادته و معاملة الناس في السلوك معهم و معاملة النفس بكشف أهوائها و نوازعها وتخليصها من الغرق في طوفان المادة و إنقاذها من التعلق بها وتعليق النجاح بأذيالها. و يعتبر الكتاب منهجاً متكاملاً لمادة الأخلاق الإسلامية و منهجاً إضافياً لمادة العقيدة ، كما أنه يعتبر رافداً ثرياً و مورداً رئيساً يعين الواعظ و خطيب الجمعة و إمام المسجد لما فيه من التأثير و الإقناع ، كما يصلح أن يوضع منهجاً تأديباً لعموم شباب الدعوة الإسلامية .
