الأربعون النووية هي مؤلف يحتوي على أربعين حديثاً نبويا شريفا، جمعها: الإمام النووي الذي التزم في جمعها أن تكون صحيحة، وعلل النووي سبب جمعه للأربعين فقال:
«من العلماء من جمع الأربعين في أصول الدين، وبعضهم في الفروع وبعضهم في الجهاد، وبعضهم في الزهد وبعضهم في الخطب، وكلها مقاصد صالحة، رضي الله عن قاصديها. وقد رايت جمع أربعين أهم من هذا كله، وهي اربعون حديثاً مشتملةً على جميع ذلك، وكل حديث منها قاعدة عظيمة من قواعد الدين، وقد وصفه العلماء بأنه مدار الإسلام عليه، أو يصف الإسلام أو ثلثه أو نحو ذلك.[1]»
ثم ألتزم في هذه الأربعين أن تكون صحيحة، وحذف أسانيدها ليسهل حفظها، ثم أتبعها بباب في ضبط خفيّ ألفاظها.[2] فرغ المؤلف من تأليفها ليلة الخميس ٢٩ جمادى الأول سنة ٦٦٨ هـ.[3]
وقال النووي في مقدمة كتابه عن هذا الحديث ومدى اعتماده عليه في جمع الأربعين النووية: "وقد اتفق العلماء على جواز العمل بالحديث الضعيف في فضائل الأعمال، ومع هذا فليس اعتمادي على هذا الحديث، بل على قوله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- في الأحاديث الصحيحة: "ليبلغ الشاهد منكم الغائب"، وقوله: "نضر الله امرأ سمع مقالتي فوعاها، فأداها كما سمعها". وقد علق الأستاذ ماهر الهندي على قول النووي، بأن الأعتماد على الأحاديث الصحيحة في فضائل الأعمال هو قول الجمهور وليس متفقًا عليه.[4] Forty is the author of Nuclear contain forty newly prophetically honest, collected: Imam Nawawi, who committed in the collection to be correct, and the rationale for nuclear raised to forty, he said:

Nawawi said in the introduction to his book on the modern and the extent of its adoption in the collection of nuclear session: "Scientists, agreed that it is permissible to work upon weak in the virtues of work, however, it is not my credit on this talk but on saying God's peace be upon him in the right conversations: "for a witness, you absent", and saying: "succulent God is hearing my article Vuaaha, Vodaha also heard." the Professor Maher Indian commented on nuclear say, that reliance on the right conversations in the virtues of work is the view of the majority and not agreed upon. [4]
