"Tender Is the Night" (Eng. Tender Is the Night) - a classic novel by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. Published in 1934. The name of the novel and the epigraph taken from the "Ode to a Nightingale" by John Keats.
Fitzgerald began work on the product in 1925; plan and future book title repeatedly undergoes significant changes. Preserved manuscript of several chapters of the first version of the novel, in which the protagonist Melarki Francis (Francis Melarkey), a Hollywood sound engineer, travels with her mother to Europe. On the Riviera are familiar with the company rich compatriots Melarki falls under their influence and eventually kills his mother.

The summer of 1929 the writer started writing the second option in enacting Rosemary Hoyt and her mother, who meet on an ocean liner Hollywood director Llewellyn Kelly and his wife Nicole. From this version, preserved in two chapters of the manuscript.
